1. How much does it cost?
Your Lighthouse Senior Living care profile is customized to suit your care needs. Therefore, to estimate your costs, we must meet with you first to assess your level of care. Your lease term is month to month. There is no security deposit, however we do require a Community Fee, paid at the time of move-in. Contact one of our Admissions Specialists today to determine your care plan and its monthly cost.
2. What is Assisted Living?
Assisted living is a type of senior living community that combines housing, personalized care services, and social activities for seniors who may need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
3. What’s the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?
Assisted living facilities are for seniors who may need assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, medication management, and meals. Assisted living communities typically provide a more independent living environment than skilled nursing facilities.
Assisted living facilities are best suited for seniors who may need assistance with ADLs but can still live fairly independently, and nursing homes are better suited for seniors who require constant medical care and supervision.
Nursing homes can handle complex medical conditions like ventilator care, wound care, and specialized rehabilitation services.
4. Who qualifies for assisted living?
At Lighthouse Senior Living, we welcome all seniors who may require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, preparing meals, managing medications, or traveling safely. Our assisted living residents do not require constant medical supervision or skilled nursing care. Our goal is to provide a supportive and comfortable environment where residents can maintain their independence while receiving the necessary care and support they need to enjoy a high quality of life. We encourage families and potential residents to tour our facility and speak with our associates to determine if assisted living fits their needs.
5. What does Lighthouse’s assisted living provide?
Each of our residents has unique needs and preferences, and we work closely with them and their families to create a personalized care plan that meets those needs. Some of our services include personal care, specialized memory care for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, regular wellness checks by on-site medical professionals, comprehensive medication management, appointment coordination for off-site medical appointments, physical therapy, three delicious and healthy meals a day prepared by our culinary team, a variety of planned activities that cater to different interests and abilities, shuttle transportation to appointments and social outings, an on-site spa and salon, housekeeping and laundry services, and more.
6. Can individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related illnesses live at Lighthouse?
Yes. Our memory care neighborhood, The Village, provides compassionate care based on the methodologies of Teepa Snow and her Positive Approach to Care.
7. What is memory care?
Memory care is a specialized form of senior living that caters to individuals with memory impairment issues such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. This type of care offers a safe and secure environment where residents receive compassionate care and support from trained professionals who understand their unique needs. Our memory care program at Lighthouse incorporates the Positive Approach™ to Care (PAC), which focuses on person-centered care, promoting independence and dignity for each resident.
8. What happens if my health needs change?
At Lighthouse, we strive to provide a wide range of personalized care plans that meet the individual needs of our residents. However, if we cannot offer a care plan advanced enough for your specific healthcare needs, we will work with you and your family members to find an appropriate solution. Our top priority is giving our residents the best care and support to maintain their health and well-being.
9. Can I bring my pet?
Yes. Pets that can be cared for exclusively be the resident are allowed. An additional $25 per month fee applies. Lighthouse does not offer pet care and dog-walking services.
10. Can I bring my own furniture to my new apartment?
Yes. Our apartments are designed to accommodate your own furniture and belongings so that you can bring that touch of home with you.
11. Is smoking allowed at Lighthouse?
Smoking is not allowed inside Lighthouse. However, we do provide special covered areas outside for smoking.
12. Are there any restrictions on visiting hours?
Consistent social connection is important, and we encourage family members and friends to spend time with our residents. We do not have any strict visiting hours, but we do ask that visitors respect the privacy and comfort of our residents by checking in with our associates before entering their rooms or common areas. Additionally, we may have certain guidelines during illness outbreaks or other safety concerns that require us to temporarily restrict visitation. In these cases, we will promptly communicate any restrictions to all our visitors. We aim to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all our residents and visitors.
